With “Bar Rescue,” host and seasoned bar consultant Jon Taffer has less than a week to persuade total strangers that he can fix their ailing businesses - but only if they embrace his bullying, tough-love tactics. In the hyperactive world of reality television, these makeovers are done at a breakneck pace, and the deadline element is what lends the shows their explosive conflict. Gordon Ramsay primed the pump with “Kitchen Nightmares” other variations followed, including Food Network’s “Restaurant Makeover” and “Tabatha’s Salon Takeover” on Bravo. Vicary says that Taffer saved her and that she has seen revenue nearly triple since his departure.Ĭurrently a little over halfway through its first season, “Bar Rescue” is the latest in a mini-wave of reality shows geared to helping troubled business owners in the service industry swim to financial solvency. Jon Taffer, seasoned bar consultant and “Bar Rescue” host, spent five spring days transforming Angel’s from a dingy sports bar into a classed-up whiskey den called Racks Billiards & Bourbon.

Why this water, from these mines? Rosendale cement was world-renowned for its strength. In addition, Grand Central Terminal, the original Federal Hall in Lower Manhattan, the Washington Monument, roads across American, & parts of the White House, too, used Rosendale limestone to build their tough foundations. It was limestone from these mines in Rosendale which were used to build the foundation of some of New York’s and the country’s greatest structures: the gargantuan caissons of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building and the 27,000-ton pedestal to the Statue of Liberty. All Widow Jane whiskeys are proofed with pure limestone mineral water from the legendary Rosendale Mines of NY, just 100 miles north of our home in Red Hook, Brooklyn. When the Widow Jane team set out to produce our own whiskey, we wanted to offer something that was bold and rich with character, but most importantly had the intense taste of New York in each sip.
